Hi! I’m Ilona

Mother, Grandmother, Lover, Reader, Post-menopausal, Ever-Evolving woman

Years ago, I discovered that a friend read Tarot. I was intrigued, and asked her to give me a reading, the first of my life. I’ve had many more readings since that first one, many of them more far professional and polished, but that first reading resonated. Now, I’m introspective by nature. (I’m an Aquarius and an INTJ!) Looking inside is nothing new to me, yet the insights provided by the cards went beyond what I’d managed to do for myself, and the insights they gave my friend into my inner workings were, at a couple of points, a bit uncanny.I was hooked. The next day, after sitting on the floor in the ‘Tarot and Oracle Cards’ section of the local New Age bookshop for at least an hour, I found the deck for me. I bought a book. I went home and started to learn.

And learn and learn and learn some more. For a long time, I did readings only for myself. It took a lot of courage to begin to do them for carefully-chosen family. Then a very few friends. Finally, I did readings for (GULP!) strangers. And I kept learning. About myself, about Tarot, about the power of Tarot to help us see into ourselves. My knowledge grew, my insight grew, my skills grew. They’re still growing, and that will never stop.

Then, I went through what were among the worst two years of my life. At the end of them, I had lost my spouse, my marriage, my home and my job. During that so-painful upheaval, Tarot was one of the constants in my life, a reliable source of insight and comfort. I am a strong woman. I would have managed, with or without the cards. But oh, how I appreciated them, the wisdom they elicited in me, the way they grounded me in those times!

When I felt weak, the cards showed me the actions I could take to make me feel strong again. When I was confused, I gained clarity. When I despaired, I gained comfort. All those good things were in me already. The cards just helped me see them.

My kids are independent adults, my marriage was over, I had no job. I found housing, but it was temporary. You know what that meant? It meant I had a clean slate. I could start from scratch.

So I did.

Now, here I am. Free, autonomous, full of joy and hope. Hoping to help others, women like myself, middle-aged, nearing or post-retirement age, who are weathering the major life changes that this stage of life throws at us. Hormones gone crazy, relationships settling into new patterns, a career ending. It’s a lot! Your changes won’t be mine. You have your own challenges. Some days, it will all feel like TOO MUCH.

It’s not. You can do it. Of course you can. You have the strength inside.

Tarot can help you find it. And find your way through.

And I would love to help!
